Inktober: A Challenge That Brings Artists Together Around the World

Jake Parker had a similar experience. In 2009, he decided to improve his skills and creativity with a month-long challenge featuring a variety of themes. In those early days, he had no idea his idea would grow to a global scale and become an event of the year for many artists. Today, Inktober is a worldwide phenomenon that has inspired many other monthly art challenges.

ARTMiE Inktober

At ARTMiE, we’ve found that Inktober inspires many of us every year, too, so we decided to create ARTMiE Inktober. What’s it all about? We’ve prepared 31 themes to get our creativity and yours going. And although we know Inktober is usually done in black and white, at ARTMiE we love the variety and uniqueness of different techniques, so we’ll be happy to see colorful illustrations, too.

The goal is to create a drawing each day based on that day’s theme. To get you started, we’ll share our own drawings for the themes at the beginning of each week. Of course, as we create, we’ll mainly rely on supplies from our studio, which you can find HERE.
We’re also really looking forward to seeing the work you share with us on social media. Tag all posts related to ARTMiE Inktober with #inkartmie. We’ll look through every one and choose a special piece at the end of each week to receive a prize from us.

And here are the themes we’ll be drawing this year:

I hope you’ve studied the list carefully and are already sharpening your pencils and getting your sketchbooks ready.
I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow as we introduce the first three themes.

Now get drawing, friends!
